Background Acting in San Antonio

Background acting in San Antonio

Film San Antonio helps projects share cast and crew calls, but its page is for project owners—not a performer signup. For an extras application, use a published notice’s casting contact and requested materials.

The Texas Film Commission’s Casting Calls board and Getting Started as an Actor guide are performer-focused resources. Covington Select describes a talent network serving Texas from Houston; check its current intake instructions rather than assuming a San Antonio service page accepts applications.

Getting started as a beginner

• Check city-promoted calls and state Job Hotline notices; confirm each deadline, location, compensation and submission contact.
• Prepare recent photos and accurate contact details, then submit only the materials requested in the notice. A city project-promotion form is not a performer application.
• Use only free application/audition routes; the city states calls it promotes must be free and open to the public.
