Background Acting in Oregon

Oregon Film is the oldest state film office in the country, and its cash rebate programs — plus no sales tax — keep Portland's production community working.

Regional overview

Oregon's incentive programs rebate 25% of in-state goods and services plus a labor rebate for qualifying projects, with additional uplifts for filming outside the Portland metro area.

Portland anchors the state's production, with a background casting community stretching back decades. Regional filming — the coast, the Cascades, the high desert — is a real part of the Oregon picture.
