Does Film Tampa Bay cast background actors?

Film Tampa Bay provides production support and industry resources. It is not a standing background-performer registry; applications belong to the casting team named in a notice.

Can I submit to CROWDshot for Tampa extras work?

CROWDshot identifies Tampa among its background-casting markets. Use its official contact route to check the process for a suitable project; do not assume it accepts general registrations without instructions.

Could a Tampa Bay booking report outside Tampa?

Yes. Check whether you would report in Tampa, St. Petersburg, Clearwater, or another location around the bay. Confirm the address and travel time before accepting.

Does Scene Seekers hire or cast extras?

No. Scene Seekers is an informational resource, not a casting company or employer.

Background acting in Tampa

Film Tampa Bay’s job information can provide leads, but not every listing is for performers. Look for a background-specific notice and use the named casting team’s submission instructions; the commission is not an extras roster.

CROWDshot describes background casting for film, television, and commercials and lists Tampa among its Florida markets. Use the company’s own contact information to ask about a suitable project or its intake process. The neighboring St. Pete-Clearwater film office has a useful extras preparation guide, but it is not a Tampa-specific jobs source.

Getting started as a beginner

Look for a background-specific notice in Film Tampa Bay’s job information or a casting company’s official channels. Check the publication date and work dates before responding.
Contact a casting company only through its published official contact route; confirm whether it accepts general talent submissions before sending materials.
Prepare recent photos and accurate measurements, and expect projects may request wardrobe you supply; always follow the project notice.

Practical local considerations

Tampa/Hillsborough and St. Pete-Clearwater are neighboring production areas, not the same reporting location. Confirm which side of the bay a notice concerns before accepting.
Ask about your call time (required arrival time), parking, and reporting address. A casting company’s regional base is not necessarily the filming location.
Keep a full day available only when you can meet the project’s stated schedule; the regional extras guide describes waiting and potentially long workdays.
