Background Acting in Michigan

Background acting in Michigan

Real Style describes extras and commercial talent and offers an official Michigan talent-profile portal. Carrie Ray Casting describes film, television, commercial, and real-people casting; check whether a notice is specifically for background performers.

Use a casting company’s official performer instructions or the contact in a suitable project notice. The Michigan Film & Digital Media Office’s production resources are not a general extras registration process.

A Michigan notice may involve travel beyond metro Detroit. Confirm the address, expected availability, and whether you need to arrange your own travel and lodging before accepting.

Getting started safely

• Use Real Style’s official talent portal after reading its current requirements and terms. Creating a profile is not an offer of work.
• Submit only through a verified performer signup or the casting contact named in a suitable notice. Share only the information requested at that stage.
• Keep recent photos and accurate sizes ready, confirm your availability, and obtain clear work and compensation terms before accepting.
• Check the notice’s date and work dates. An archived call is not a standing opening.

Before applying, read our casting safety guidance and beginner’s guide.

For current opportunities, follow the casting company's latest notices and application instructions.
