Do the Chicago series share one extras contact?

No. The city page lists separate emails and Facebook pages for each series, though Chicago Med and Chicago PD share an Instagram account and mailing list. Use the contact for the specific show.

Does the city film office cast extras itself?

No. It publishes casting information and agency contacts as a public resource. Actual casting is handled by the productions and the casting companies they hire.

Are the agencies on the city’s list endorsed by the city?

The page presents them as agencies that may provide additional information and opportunities. Treat the list as a starting point and verify each company’s current process independently.

Does Scene Seekers book extras in Chicago?

No. Scene Seekers is an independent informational site. We do not cast, hire, or represent performers.

Q: Where can I find Chicago background casting notices?

The City of Chicago Film Office publishes a casting-information page with the background contacts for Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, and Chicago PD, plus a mailing list for notices. Start there rather than with unofficial reposts.

Chicago’s own city film office publishes a casting-information page naming the background contacts for its long-running television series and a list of established local casting agencies. It is the most reliable starting point for a Chicago beginner.

Background acting in Chicago

The City of Chicago Film Office’s Current Production and Casting Information page lists separate background contacts for Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, and Chicago PD, including dedicated email addresses, Facebook pages, and a mailing list that sends casting notices directly.

The same page lists Chicago casting agencies — including 4 Star Casting, Cine-Casting, Extra Ordinary Casting of Chicago, Joan Philo Casting, Marinella Hume Casting, and O’Connor Casting — and points readers to the Illinois Film Office Production Guide and SAG-AFTRA Chicago. A city-published list is a starting point for your own verification, not a booking channel.

Getting started as a beginner

Start at the city film office’s casting page and use the contact listed for the specific show you are interested in — each series handles background separately.
Sign up for the mailing list the city page links to so new notices reach you directly, and follow the named Facebook pages for the latest posts.
Keep recent photos and accurate sizes ready, and never pay a fee simply to apply for background work.

Practical local considerations

Series background contacts are show-specific. An email address for one production is not a general Chicago extras registration.
Chicago productions film across the city’s neighborhoods, so confirm the reporting location and your transportation before accepting a booking.
The city’s agency list is informational. Verify any company’s current process on its own official site before sharing personal information.
